An emptiness, an apnea, a deep and intimate fathoming that searches, wanders, digs and rings out dark atmospheres and remarkable existentialisms, things that target the listener, centering in its being an experiment in life.
Imaginative details for Fabrizio Tavernelli’s new album, “Fantacoscienza,” an authorial lump of delusions and visions that in thirteen tracks bastes atmospheres now dreamy now destabilizing, a work with an expressive orbit all its own, shaped on melancholic, grayish and electric hatchings, an intimate substance that floats on the stereo favoring a sweetly bewildered sense of landings and abandonments of spirit.
The artist Tavernelli (AFA and CSI) above all, manages to compensate with this greedy work of trattile liquidity and vertical poetry in clusters, questions and interrogations that come before when looking at the infinity in the strict sense of “unimaginable,” manages to make that calm thrill fly that moves the curiosity of human bipeds toward something that basically makes us envious and at the same time makes us grow soulful immeasurably, but it does. To fly through listening to the tracklist (among many) latch onto the ethereal vapors of “Fantacoscienza”,follow the electric crawl I Said Nothing, be lulled by the alien rings of “Il raggio della morte” or begin to zigzagging through the experimental folds of “Mi guardi come un Ufo”, and for a time “l’alto” will be your preferred visual. Disc not for everyone, but for many!
