Canti di guerra, di lavoro e d’amore

Genres: Folk

A discographic follow-up to the already excellent “Mi specchio e rifletto,” “Canti di guerra, di lavoro e d’amore” sees the scrupulous violinist again join her efforts with those of cellist Deborah Walker (together as a duo for more than two decades, either alone or in others’ projects, including performances of Eliane Radigue’s “Occam Ocean 3”), to create together a work of extraordinary breadth, however strongly connoted in space. The result of both musicians’ Emilian origins, the work digs deep into lived experience and re-enactment, bringing the history of the area to the center of the dialogue. History that smells of struggle, of resistance, of toil, rich in the contributions of the women who trod these lands: respectful of tradition, but no less daring in the forms chosen, the album exemplifies a path of research that fears no comparison.
