Geisha

Genres: Pop, Indie

2013

The album, 13 tracks plus the bonus track “Astro” (with a feat by Tommy Vee and Mauro Ferrucci) and two remixes, is the result of the spark between the young and feisty artist and a team of artistic producers of all respect, formed by Luca Vicini and Max Casacci and Marco Baroni, Domenico Canu, Sergio Della Monica and Alessandro Neri. A combination that guarantees refinement in the sounds, in which rhythms and electronics dominate with oscillations between rock and a more singer-songwriter world, and great attention to the lyrics of which Antonella is largely the author.

In “Geisha” Antonella manages to decline her music in an equally multifaceted way. In fact, along the track list, the notes range from the electro-pop of a “Un mondo nuovo” to the easy and lively sounds of “Monsters” – a song chosen by the Patrizia Pepe brand for which Antonella is testimonial of the “Loiza” line – on which is sewn a profound lyric, dedicated to the important theme of war; from the alternative rock of “Only When It Rains,” the Italian version of Garbage’s “Only Happy When It Rains,” to the singer-songwriter rock of “Non avrò paura”; from the pop of the ironic and melancholy “Ti amavo per sempre,” to the dance rhythms of “Astro” featuring Tommy Vee and Mauro Ferrucci.

Also on the disc are “Cuore scoppiato”, the first unreleased song with which Antonella entered the world of discography, the cover “Missing” (famous song by British duo Everything but the Girl), and remix versions of “Cuore scoppiato” and “Un anno in un’ora”.
