“Il giovane Mariani e altri racconti” is Murubutu’s first solo product, the mc is part of the La Kattiveria crew (widely present here) and from his debut what emerges most urgently is his aptitude for storytelling, storytelling if you prefer. Murubutu has a fairly solid technique but the use he makes of it is not, as is often the case, an end in itself; on the contrary, the fifteen tracks on offer are carefully crafted from the vocabulary down to the joints and each episode, if put against the light, can be read as a metaphor for concepts that are much more concrete than they initially seem. To this must be added a sound that is quite homogeneous and effective and the featuring tracks that suitably fit the atmosphere of “Giovane Mariani…”
Overall, this is a work that far exceeds the average of domestic self-productions. (Official site)
