Bianchi Tiziano EN

Tiziano Bianchi began studying trumpet at the age of 8 at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato Claudio Merulo in Castelnovo ne’Monti (RE), where he graduated in classical trumpet in September 2002.

In July 2008 he took part in the ‘Umbria Jazz Clinics’ in Perugia, where he won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
In January 2009 he moved to Boston to attend classes staying for nearly three years, during which time he won the ‘Al Natale Brass Scholarship’ and ‘B.A.S Scholarship’ for academic merit. He travels by representing the College as a ‘Student Ambassador’.
He graduated with honors in ‘Professional Music’ from Berklee College of Music in May 2011.

In May 2013 he was selected as a Finalist for the 2013 Massimo Urbani International Prize.

In September 2015 and September 2017 he serves as Lecturer-Assistant in the ‘Masterclass of High Jazz Perfectionism’ held by M. Tiger Okoshi, internationally renowned trumpeter and lecturer at Berklee College of Music in Boston, in Castelnovo Monti.

In 2016, his first solo album ‘Now and then’ was released, produced by Tiger Okoshi, and featuring the voice of Giovanni Lindo Ferretti. The album is distributed in Italy by Irma Records and in Japan by Pony Canyon. In Japan, the two most important jazz publications, ‘Jazz Life’ and ‘Jazz Japan,’ devote extensive space to the album. Gets reviews and interviews for several other Japanese publications. The album is included in the playlist of the national airline ANA (All Nippon Airlines). In Italy, the video of the song ‘Now and then,’ featuring Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, is published exclusively on the page of ‘Repubblica.

In 2016 he won the ‘Roberto Zelioli Award’ given by ‘Albinea Jazz’ as emerging artist of the year, opening the concert of ‘Charles Lloyd Quartet’.

Since January 2018, he has been teaching ‘Jazz Trumpet’ at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma.
