Giampaolo Corradini & The Weekend Warriors is an interesting band and actually we are talking about veterans within the Reggio Emilia scene, led precisely by Giampaolo Corradini (formerly in The Substitutes – a Who tribute band and The Youngs – a Neil Young tribute band) on vocals and guitar and by his soldiers: Piergiorgio Bonezzi (Desnudo, Piccoli Omicidi) on guitar, Luigi Tocci (Substitutes, Cipango) on bass, Christian Borghi (Graziano Romani) on keyboard and Marco Falavigna (Cocco & Falawine) on drums.
The band, which had the pleasure of debuting by sharing the stage with none other than Modena City Ramblers, combines in its style sounds typically belonging to the British scene of the fabulous 1960s (there are, in fact, skillful sonic references – but not copying – to Animals, Who e Kinks) with original songs written in Italian (there were more bands with such “courage”).
