Lûv (“wolf” in the Reggio Emilian mountain dialect) are a project of narratives in music suspended between literary suggestions , songwriting and folk sounds.
The group was born out of the passion for acoustic and folk sounds of Ugo Mortari, restless lead guitarist of various Reggio Emilia pop and rock formations, and Carlo Baja Guarienti, a member of the 20-year-old neofolk project Albireon. They are then joined by the singer, guitarist and flutist Mario Asti, and by the violinist Zhanna-Mari Kuatova. The result of this encounter between distant musical experiences is a personal blend of songwriting, folk and rock influences, with a strong narrative vein.
In the fall of 2019, the group released a self-produced album, The Whale Days, which was chosen as a revelation record by the folk sound research radio show Folktrip.
